It's important to keep your life in balance

I feel like this scale, too much of some things, lacking in others.  And maybe just a little blue.

Feeling my age, menopause is tough.....I want to be in balance like this!

And, of course, this goes without saying!

How do you keep balanced in your life?  I'd love some helpful hints.

  4. If we were in balance life would not be a challenge and we would all just set in our rocking chairs all day. keep trying to get it, that is what we do. Love this post very clever. So true. Richard from My Old Historic house.

  6. That is a good question Barbara and I wish I could give a fantastic answer to show the balance. At my age I am still trying hard to find my balance...and lately my arthritis is making me lose my Balance, but I keep on chugging along.

  7. Well, this is the wrong post for me to be commenting on. I can't keep my balance for the life of me! Hence the broken foot. I have found out that sweet potatoes are a natural source of estrogen. Excellent for women going through menopause. I eat them atleast 2 x a week. It does help. If I go without I can tell a difference.

  8. I haven't felt "in balance" for the past 8 years. It used to be I was juggling too many balls at once and now I get the blues for lack of things to juggle. So I have no answers...I'm really not that comfortable with my own life right now...I'll be watching the comments on this one!

  9. The thing that truly keeps me in balance is...a good 4 mile walk at least 5 days a week and reading the scriptures every day. It really works. :D

  10. I'm with Julie in that a good vigerous morning walk really helps me get going and have energy all day. I have to drag myself out of bed some mornings to do it, but I am always happy afterward.

  13. I am right smack dab in the middle of menopause and it is making me (and my husband and kids) nuts. It is so difficult to explain to someone who isn't experiencing it, what it is like. As for coping, I do meditation with yoga, attempt to eat healthy, take estroblend, and amytriptalin for hot flashes. I need sunshine and fresh air every day - it really is essential for me. I have vasular migraines and estrogen is not an option for me. Super. I hope it helps to know you aren't alone, and that you are being sent lots of positive energy and hugs.

  15. Oh dear, look at all of us, suffering from the same middle age phenomenon! It is awful, and I have been suffering with it for 16 years now.

It is nice to know we are not alone. Menopause stinks! Weren't periods and bloating and cramping and then childbird enough?!!! I think it does end sometime, but I don't know when. I find a piece of fine chocolate a day helps. It really is a mood lifter for me.

  16. I don't know what everyone is talking about? I'm never off balance!LOL!!Oh how I wish that were true!I think keeping busy and doing the things you enjoy makes a world of difference. Giving yourself that extra pep talk when you feel like you can't be bothered. I know it always makes me feel better .

  17. My brain is always on overdrive, so I do deep breathing exercises (a kind of meditative self-hypnosis) and I spend some time outside of my brain, dwelling in my heart.

  18. This is sooo cute. Take a nap every day! That might help. Of course, I don't have children. I don't have to worry about Sweet Old Bob because he is napping as well. Hugs,

  19. I am so off balance these days, too. I try to put it back in my life on a perpetual basis, and lately it just seems to go off kilter at the slightest whim.

UGH. Menopause is not for sissies, is it?

  21. My best way to deal with menopause has been to realize I can't handle things the way I used to and to not expect as much of myself. Otherwise I can be a volcano! And when I'm feeling those "mini hot flashes" and can't sleep well, I just tell myself it's going to get better. Pace yourself- that's my best advice! Not sure about the weight thing, I was already battling with that subject, but it is a battle most women fight during this time. I gave my husband a heads up a while ago, so when he feels my tension building he politely backs off!

  22. I'm like Savannah Granny...my life stays balanced ONLY if I get that hours nap every single day. Well, that and 2 cups of coffee every morning. :))
