Can't Get Enough

Last Friday I was in Long Island, then on Saturday I went to New Jersey.  Naturally, there was no way I was not going to stop at a cute farm stand.  Luckily, my friend who was driving wanted to stop as well!  This place is called Melick's and it is a 'branch' location in Branchburg, New Jersey.  Their main farm and store is in Oldwick.

Cute little place.  I found a white pumpkin there and bought some veggies and a jar of apple butter.

We ended this day by having the most delicious burger at Red Robin, called the Oktoberfest burger.  It features Swiss cheese, beer mustard onions and Black Forest ham on a toasted pretzel bun.  Side of sweet potato fries.  All I can say is get thee to a Red Robin before this seasonal burger goes away.  I am sorry I didn't take a photo, but check out the link.

I love this season!

  4. I lived in East Hampton for 2 years and one of my favorite things about Long Island were the farm stands. I spent many a day driving from the North fork to the South fork taking pictures of them in different seasons. I always wanted to do a coffee table book about them. never seemed to get it off the ground. Enjoy the earth's harvest. Thanks for the kind words of advice. Richard from My Old Historic House.

  14. It is a beautiful season, Barbara, and I am glad you are getting around and enjoying it! I am afraid to to out on the roads this weekend, so much traffic out here for the pumpkin farms, so I enjoy the great weather rocking on the porch or walking down to the beach! I will wait till the weekend tourists have left the Hamptons to get out!
    Have a great Sunday, B!

  17. I love the East Coast in the Fall. Out here on the prairie, we lack the Norman Rockwell charm of your farm stands. Thank you for taking us with you for your stop. We do, however, have a Red Robin, and I'll check out that special 'burger'. Sounds a bit evil. Cherry Kay

Such a wonderful array of pumpkins.
If only you could see the paltry, pathetic choice we have here in Normandy!
Plus an Oktoberfest burger, you are certainly one lucky lady.
    Thanks for stopping by earlier,

  28. I've yet to hit a roadside barn to buy apples and pumpkins! I need to drive about an hour to hit the place I like. I like to buy their 12 egg white angel food cakes and apple butter. Maybe we can make the drive this week sometime. I need a good shopping trip, Barbara.
As for the burger, the onions on that Oktoberfest burger from Red Robin are calling me....
