I Love Fall

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.        -George Eliot

I love discovering new farm stands, this is called Martin Viette Nursery and is located in East Norwich, Long Island, New York.

The weather actually was much nicer than these photos show.

They sell the most delicious apple cider, which is produced close by at the Jericho Cider Mill.

They had lovely sculptures for the garden.  Way out of my price league, but I couldn't help but take some photos.

This urn is also a fountain.

I bought a sugar pumpkin for a pie, some gourds, cider, squash, and they will have their own 'starring' roles coming up.

We capped off the day with pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks.  Does it get any better?

I love those sculptures. They have some similar in the town where my daughter goes to school, but they aren't for sale (not that I could afford them...)

  28. Hi Barbara,

What a beautiful farm stand. I would have spent the day there for sure :) You're right -- the sculptures are wonderful. Did you notice that the scarecrow in the pumpkin patch looks just like the scarecrow in the Wizard Of Oz? Or am I the only one who thinks so?

Love your George Eliot quote. Fall is my favorite season.
