La Bella Marketplace

A new food store opened about six months ago, and I am hooked!  It is huge, well stocked and has a very courteous and helpful staff.

A beautiful floral display greets you as you enter.  Followed by a wonderful produce aisle.

One of my favorite fruit

Cheeses from all over the world

The freshest fish

The lobster tank

A fish I want to try "Branzino".  Has anyone tasted this?

A sushi bar

There is such a selection of prepared foods as well as groceries and staples

Pizza made the old world way, as well as fresh baked bread

Is it just me, or does it look like a special light is shining on the pizza?

I was taking photos as quickly as I could when there were no people about

There is even an in-house cafe

I was fascinated with this aisle, cleaning products from Europe.

I love the colors of the clothespins

Time to say arrivederci! (good bye!).  Joining

  3. Dearest Barbara,
Oh, a fancy Marketplace "La Bella" is with so many varieties of products♡♡♡
I can easily understand your facilitation, my friend!!!
I really would love to shop there with you☆☆☆
My hubby got interested in many kinds of fishes and cheeses. Is the "Branzino" kind of sea bass? Yes, we eat them and sashimi is really good(♥˘◡˘♥) Happy to see the su-shi bar, I wonder if you tasted them and how you felt. And the cheese, just for him, haha.
arrivederci for now, and Sending you lots of love from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  4. I could spend hours in a store like this! So many cool things under one roof! Here in the city we have to go to 15 different shops, the bakery, the butcher, the florist, etc. We need a La Bella Market here! :)

  7. I hear you girlfriend - I get more excited by a grocery store than a clothing boutique! This one looks a bit like our Wegmans. And yes, pizza area always has a special glow LOL!

  9. Hi Barbara, Looks like you have another fun place to shop on the Island. I have never heard of "branzano" . I must check it out.Giada has a great recipe for it.
In the detergent isle I noticed a brand called "Dash". That sure is a retro brand!
As for the pizza, yes a special light is shinning down. Lol!

  12. Hi Barbara,

Lucky you! Such a lovely shop. From where we live to find a store stocked with these lovely exotic foods I have to drive almost 50 miles. Livin' in the country~ ~Love it anyway.

  14. I LOVE groceries like these, Barbara! La Bella looks really nice -- next time I go over to SI I'll ahve to check them out. Branzino is italian sea bass -- a very delicious and healthy fish to eat.

  16. Oh, my! I would have a difficult time leaving such a lovely grocery. Food shopping is one of my favorite things to do, and I love a nice store that features organic products and loose produce so we may choose how many and which ones we want to purchase. There are to be some new markets opening in our area within the next year or so, but I'm most excited about Trader Joe's coming.

Have a good Friday and week-end!

  22. I'm so jealous that you have such a wonderful grocery store near you. We have to travel over an hour to shop at anything like this! I would be in "food" heaven!

  23. What a wonderful store! You are very lucky to have such a fine fish department. I've never seen Branzino here but I've seen lots of recipes - mostly Italian. I think I saw one in a Mario Batali cookbook.

  24. I am so jealous! We have a Walmart superstore and a couple of local stores, but I would love something like this or Whole Foods where I could buy fresh fish and wonderful cheeses! Lucky you!!

  27. Hi Barbara,

Wow -- this is some grocery store! It's so pretty. I love the flower bouquets and the pizzas (I think there's a special light there too). This looks like a really fun place to shop; we don't have anything like that in our neck of the woods. :)

Thanks for your visit and comments on my Krispy Kreme birthday post. We have Dunkin Doughnuts here, as well, and I like them pretty well. I hope you have a great week Barbara!

    XO,

    Denise at Forest Manor
