It's Coffee Day

Today is National Coffee Day!

Pinterest

I love coffee!  Or cawfee, when I am relaxed with my homeys and not concerned about my 'accent'.  ;-)

I need at least 1 -2 cups to get me going in the a.m., and occasionally enjoy a break in the afternoon, sometimes at night I will enjoy a decaf.  I drink tea as well, and adore tea parties, but my first love is .........cawfee.

When I am out and about I enjoy stopping at Starbucks (I keep a gift card on me so it doesn't hurt the wallet too much) and Dunkin' Donuts.  I also like the coffee at Panera and 7-11.

Coffee consumption is up 7% from last year, according to the National Coffee Distributors' Association.  Research found that coffee drinkers averaging several cups a day have the least risk of death.  Another study found evidence that coffee can reduce pain.

My favorite flavored coffee would have to be a pumpkin spice latte, followed by a gingerbread latte, both by Starbucks.  I recently tried Panera's pumpkin spice latte, with a caramel drizzle and it was very very good.

First thing I do each morning is put up the pot.  It is a routine I find hard to break.  Nor do I really try.   So enjoy a cup today, hot or cold, decaf or regular, it is good for you!

  1. Ahhhhh, coffee ... that diffuser of mornings! I didn't come to have a relationship with coffee until my 30's, but we're fast friends now! I'm still a tea fan first -- but nothing beats the smell of a freshly ground cup of dark roast! From my mug to yours, cheers! :)

  2. Love that coffee. It clicks on at 5:15 each morning, and by the time I let the dogs out and feed them, I am drinking coffee. Love my vanilla carmel creamer. Little luxuries, huh?
    Cute post.

  4. Raising my mug (which is filled with pumpkin spice) in a toast to cawfee. I remember when they thought coffee was bad for us. So glad they finally wizened up :).

  5. Always have to have a cup or two in the morning. Early this year I had to switch to decaf, because of a little health tick...changing to decaf fixed the tick.:-)
We usually switch to iced tea in the morning during Summer, but not this year. Stayed with our coffee all season.

  6. Love that first photo - wonder how that was done? I like both coffee and tea. I ADORE Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte; if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

  7. I am drinking the first of many cups of coffee as I read this! I love my coffee and take it with lots of French Vanilla Cream! I'm bad! I tried the Pumpkins Spice Latte at Starbucks and found it too sweet. I must be the only one because it is so popular!

    Happy Weekend!

  8. Yep, gotta have my Cup-O-Joe first thing in the morning! Believe it or not I've never stopped at Starbucks. I have added a spoonful of pumpkin and sprinkled pumpkin pie spice into the basket before brewing, that's really good too! Enjoy:@)

  9. Oh Barbara!!!I love this post!!The first photo is fantastic!!!I love coffee too. I have 3/4 cups of coffee in my day: two cups during the morning and one or two cups in the afternoon. I drink it without sugar because it is more tasteful. I have always italian coffee but i love also american coffee.

  10. Hi Barbara, Been thinking of you this Autumn. .Lots of great antique shopping going on in this area. Adamstown antique shops and Rennngers and Shupps Grove are all having Extrvaganza this weekend. Heading out tomorrow for a bit of shopping.
Gotta have my coffee too in the am. I love Starbucks too but I am a cuppachino fan, not so much the flavored drinks. Keep in touch.

  11. I am a hot tea person in the mornings and also later in the afternoon (herbal). However, I also enjoy coffee, and that pumpkin spice latte would get me going to Panera very quickly!

Thank you so much for your visits to my blog!

    Have a pleasant, fall evening!

  12. I like coffee and didn't know it was National Coffee Day. If I had known I wouldn't had just made myself a cup of chamomile tea :)

I like your coffee station on your counter!

  17. I'm hooked on tea the way some people are hooked on coffee, but I do love Starbucks too! That's really the only time I drink coffee, and it's usually the pumpkin spice latte (had one yesterday!) or another seasonal coffee. I have the starbucks app on my iPhone, so I just click and pay, and it reloads itself. I do not recommend this as a rule because it is easy to forget how much $$ is going out. hehe Linda

  27. National Coffee Day is one of my favorite new holidays, though I celebrate every day. I like the gingerbread latte and the pumpkin, too. Don't do them often, but what treats every once in awhile.

  28. Barbara, we have been out of town for a few days, following a very busy week last week...and I am just now getting caught up on my blog reading!
I am with you on the coffee...life's simple pleasures and all that! I love Starbucks' Frappuccinos, mocha or mocha coconut or, in autumn, pumpkin spice. I also like McDonalds' iced mocha which is quite good and very affordable.

Morning doesn't begin before coffee. (Does it?) And we usually sip evening coffee with Jeopardy.

Yes, coffee is a bog part of our lives. :)

P.S. Your sister's home is fabulous!!
