Aftermath

Sunrise on Staten Island, day after Hurricane Sandy

The aftermath - PATH Trains.  This is intense

I have no words, except that I am grateful for minimal discomfort, and praying for all who were not as fortunate.

  1. Oh that photo of the subway in Times Square...freaky. So far, I have been able to keep all my chicks in a row. You're one of them. Praying for you and your community and that soon all will be much better than it is today.

  7. I think -- I hope -- the subway station picture is a hoax...http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2012/10/instasnopes-sorting-the-real-sandy-photos-from-the-fakes/264243/ This is a very good article that distinguishes some very real (and scary) photos from the storm from some fakes. I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was, and *very* glad you weathered it all well in your area!!!! :)

  8. So glad to hear you are safe and sound, Barbara! I have other good blogging buddies who live in the Long Island area and they are okay too, thankfully, but what a mess. I don't envy the clean up that will follow this awful storm!

  11. I was thinking of you today. I am shocked at the pictures I've seen of New York and New Jersey. I sure hope there wont' be a lot more deaths reported. This is unreal.
My nephews home in Connecticut was struck by a tree late Monday and it made it into their bedroom. Fortunately no one was hurt. Prayers to all- it's going to be a slow recovery.
