Hi everyone, hope all of you enjoyed the day with family and friends or having a romantic dinner for two with your spouse or significant other.
My Thanksgiving was a little discombobulated this year. I was having six for dinner, then it turned into a movable feast when two of my guests had medical emergencies and just were not up to the drive. It was easier for me to cook, pack it up and drive to them.
I made the turkey soup, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, biscuits, pumpkin pie and apple crumb pie. My friend's sister-in-law made the turkey, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms. I was happy as traffic was wonderful going in to Brooklyn and coming home was even faster.
Today I am relaxing. No photos for the post, I didn't bring my camera with me or take photos before hand. Gave myself a break from added pressure. (My friends' would not have been happy to have their photos taken and shared at this particular time.)
I did not start Christmas decorating or shopping. I hate crowds and long lines. I can't stand for too long anyway. I'd much rather go during the week, early in the day. Just one of the many perks of retirement. I did start a project, tweaking my Christmas wreath, and adding an 'unusual' element to it. If it turns out fine, you will see it!
I also want to acknowledge Linda Primmer of the blog "Life and Linda" (aka the Fairy Blog Mother) for my new blog header and background. She also set up new pages for recipes, features, etc. and added a search button, signature and all the fun things I have always wanted but could not do on my own. I am so fearful that one wrong move and the blog would be lost. And I don't know if I would start over from that point, honestly! But here it is, and I am grateful for blogging friends with the skill and expertise that I lack to help me out. She is a pleasure to work with and gets it done pronto!
Thanks, Linda! I will be adding things to the new pages over the next week.
Looking forward to hearing about your great buys while shopping and decorating accomplished over the weekend!
