Well, Mother Nature is really fooling with us!
And back to reality, I still have family and friends out on Long Island without power or phone service. And friends here on Staten Island picking up pieces of their lives. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Snow the first week of November! I hope it doesn't cause any major problems and that those who have been left without their homes due to Sandy are able to be housed somewhere safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteWow -- how pretty! Of course it's not so nice for those who are still struggling with the effects of Sandy. It's so cold *we* even had sleet today! :)
ReplyDeleteJust took the dog out and it looks the same here.
ReplyDeleteI remember those commercials! I can't believe the craziness of the weather. I was out gardening today and it was 70 here. Snow is on the way in 2 days so I had to get as much of the leaves out as I could. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteHello Barbara:
ReplyDeleteA friend of ours who divides her time between Long Island and Budapest arrived here earlier in the week. She reports her gazebo, swimming pool and verandah have all been carried away and the ground floor of her house flooded. It brings home to us what so many people are suffering; they are much in our thoughts.
We didn't need it right now, that's for sure! Luckily here it just landed on the grass, streets and sidewalks appear to be clear (well, what I can see of them at 5:30 anyway:@)
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeballing that storm since they first mentioned it. I can't imagine the folks who are already cold, and tired, and frustrated having to face this one. All we can do from our southern end is pray.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe this is happening again! Mother nature seems angry lately. Hugs.
ReplyDeletexo,
Lisa
Those poor people just get one thing after another. And those kids will be going to school all summer at this rate!
ReplyDeleteI watched the updates about last nights bad weather. Gees.. I hope this is the end of that nonsense! I love that commercial! LOL.. I remember it!! Mother nature is powerful and one thing for certain is we can't fool it or control it!!
ReplyDeleteI do remember that commercial very well. It was a little trip down memory lane to see it again.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine what Mother Nature is thinking right now. Believe me, those affected by Sandy are in my thoughts and prayers daily.
tough times - the videos and stories coming from that area humble me!
ReplyDeleteSending good wishes and prayers your way from up here in Canada. Yes i do remember that commercial from way back then. Good to be back with my friends on blogland.
ReplyDeleteRita
We got at least 6 inches of snow here. So many are still without power. I have been praying everyday. This weekend will be in the 50's. Ya!!!
ReplyDeleteSnow is always so pretty because we never get it, but you guys just did not need it! Praying for you all and hoping that this passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a horrible mess out there...I was really sick the week the storm hit and so I spent a few days in bed with CNN on listening as it approached, hit and the disaster was discovered as day broke. I still can't believe the pictures, so I can only imagine seeing it in person. My husband works for a power company and 9 people from his office are out there working and the reports they are calling in are something to hear. Now the snow...just too much at all once.
ReplyDeleteHoping the power is restored soon to the those who haven't gotten it back yet or lost it again due to the winter storm.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Pat @ Pat's Pink Apron
Oh, we so are keeping all those folks in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers!!
ReplyDeleteI so hope that the weather warms again, and that power is restored so that the restoration of homes and property, and especially lives can begin.
Warm thoughts...
K.
Hi - I found you through Marie's blog and had to come over. You posted some dramatic photos on the aftermath of this wicked hurricane. I'm so sorry about the loss of lives, especially since some were people you knew. It's so hard to imagine the devastation. I hope everyone will continue to remember the needs of those who survived the hurricane and pitch in with donations and supplies for however long they need.
ReplyDeleteDearest Barbara,
ReplyDeleteOh, I guess that it would take long time for the power to get restored☆☆☆
So much to bear, I presume!!!
Mother Nature sure is hard on us sometimes.
I am thinking about you and all of your families and friends who are affected.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
I hope you are safe after hurricane Sandy. I saw the devastation in the television. Take care :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not nice for Mother Nature to fool the East Coast! I do remember that commercial :) I can't imagine how cold it must be for those without power yet.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a rough time for all of you in that part of the country and I am keeping you all in my prayers. Take care...sending extra hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you this morning, Barbara, and wanted to stop by to see how you're doing. My daughter in NJ called a few days ago when the snow started. Thankfully, like you, she's fine, but all around... Still praying here.
ReplyDeleteSo true -
ReplyDeleteMary x
I gotta admit, it sure did seem like Mother Nature was fooling us.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are well, particularly with the devastation that Staten Island endured.
Great to have Seasonal Sundays back up, running, and having you be part of it!
