Thanks to all the men and women of our Armed Forces.
Thanks to those fighting for our freedom today, and for those in the past
We need to pray for our country, and the world, every day
Thanks to my father, who wanted to enlist way back in the early 1940's, before he received his draft notice. My grandmother told him to wait. He did and served four years.
I read on a blog a comment from someone who said he hates American patriotism. He doesn't read mine, but if he did, I have two words for him and they are not "Happy Thanksgiving". You just don't know when the USA might be saving your

Amen to that! I have read such negative trash online all week. Time to give thanks for our freedom, prayers to our leaders, and love to our service people.

You know that will never be my comment. I am grateful to live in America and thank those who have given so much to make this possible.
ReplyDeleteI am very grateful to all our servicemen and women and to the veterans. God bless them all. Lovely post and tribute! Have a wonderful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteDearest Barbara,
ReplyDeleteOh, our father sure were brave ones!!!
My father who fought WWⅡ is really reticent person. But I could feel the way he tried to teach me the importance of peace. We have "anniversary of the end of World War II" on August 15th. We sure must remind ourselves of cruelties of war.
We all pray for our country and all over the world.
Lots of love and hugs from in Japan to my American friend, xoxo Miyako*
Well said, Barbara; I especially like your response for Mr. Unpatriotic. ;) This is such a nice post -- I love all the images and quotes you shared, as well as the info. about your father. We owe so much to our veterans; thank you for a great post!

You are not kidding! Amen to that!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless all of our servicemen & women...past & present!
Don't you wonder about people like your Mr. Unpatriotic? Where does he think he gets the freedom to *publicly* express his opinions? Ironic, isn't it?? Hugs!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for a very uplifting post! I am really tired of all the haters out there! What the world needs now is love sweet love!
ReplyDeleteLots of people hate patriotism. I've never understood that. I would think that every person in the world would love his or her country. You've gathered a wonderful collection of quotes.
ReplyDeleteWell said, dear Barbara! Happy Vets Day! xo
ReplyDeleteI am shocked about that man's comment. I guess he never learned the one basic common courtesy "If you can't say anything nice...."
ReplyDeleteSo let's irritate him a little more...I am PROUD to be an American. :)
Hi Barbara! I can't understand someone living here in American and not being patriotic and thankful for the freedoms we share.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post.
be a sweetie,
shelia :)
Well said, Barbara. As the daughter of a WWII veteran and 2 very patriotic parents, I will always love America and fly my flag with pride.
ReplyDeleteI stand in gratitude with you! I'm sure glad I didn't read that comment because I couldn't agree with you more. We still live in the most gracious country in the world. If he doesn't believe that, ask the countries all over the world who have been helped by the USA.
ReplyDeleteI was gone all weekend away from the TV. I hope and pray that things are getting better on Staten Island and L.I.
Well said, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteHappy Veteran's Day! I am so thankful for those that have served our country and especially for our wounded warriors and those that paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedoms!
