I just heard of the passing of a dear blogging buddy, Beverly of Beverly's Back Porch.
Up until just a few short weeks ago, I had no idea that Bev had had a battle with cancer. Every day you could count on a post from her, with a really delicious recipe, sometimes two or three in one day. The entire summer she was busy canning farm-fresh produce from her brother's yard. Her energy level amazed me.
On Sunday, Bev would do a post called Saints & Scriptures. I was immediately hooked on having "breakfast with Bev" Sunday mornings. So many of her weekly posts really hit home for me, and I would tease her and say she was writing these just for me.
Her last project was baking for her church's festival. She was only able to be there for an hour or so.
I have no more words, she was an inspiring lady, a fabulous country cook with a zest for life, and a fighter. She passed in her own bed, surrounded with fur babies and family.
Rest in peace, Beverly, you will be missed.
xo

I am sad to hear of the passing of a lovely blog lady.
ReplyDeletei am glad that you enjoyed her sunday scriptures! though bev and i were like peas and carrots, she was classically a christian, i am not. we excepted our differences totally and never let that bother us. she was such a huge amount of energy in a very small bottle. i will never think of replacing her, she can't be replaced. i will never stop missing her. we challenged each other which is one of the best thing friends can do.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing Beverly through your blog, Joyce. I know you two shared a special friendship. xo
