I have made some new blogging friends recently. One of them is Patrice at Everyday Ruralty. Patrice shared this photo of the first lambs to be born on her family farm, which has been in her family since the 1680's.
I was just so taken that these white- as -snow lambs were born during the first snowfall. I emailed Patrice to ask her permission to post the photo as this is just about my most favorite thing ever!
What can be more hopeful than new born lambs, and a sure sign that spring will be here before we know it (or wish it to be!).

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting about our new babies. They are so precious! We should have quite a few more arriving soon. The mothers are moving slowly and make me remember how uncomfortable those last weeks are before birth. I will tell Gretta that her lambs are one of your favorite things!

ReplyDeleteWhat a special photo and new beginning. It's always neat to see sheep/lamb as it makes me think of the wonderful warm wool they provide for us knitters. We are certainly making good use of it this winter...even though it's not been terribly cold in Texas, I know it has been in other parts of the US. Thanks for sharing this favorite thing.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!!! I love to see the little lambs at the fairs and in the fields! Hope you are staying warm over there, Barbara! Linda

How gorgeous they are. I remember my grandparents had a farm and a couple of times my mom brought in baby lambs whose mothers had died and tried to keep them alive by bottle feeding them. I was only 2 1/2 at the time but that memory is as clear as can be.
ReplyDeletePerfection! Thank you for the view...I'll sleep better this evening I really mean it, with that picture floating in my head!

I will start with a random and unrelated comment: You have changed your font for titles, etc, since I was here last (or I have been way too distracted to notice...) I like it! That's the font that I tried and tried to get when I changed my blog, and it wouldn't show up for me. Odd it was...
ReplyDeleteAs to the lambs, I totally agree that they are a sure sign of new life ahead. They blessed me to look at.
How precious and sweet! I love sweet little lambs, although these are making me quite homesick for our little farm in Alabama.
ReplyDeleteOh! What a sweet little picture! I do love lambs -- they're quite darling! Sorry I've been so quiet of late -- just 'coping'. Hugs!! :)
