And........it's snowing

It's snowing like crazy but not accumulating too much, so far.

Trying to think positive thoughts.  These plants poking through the ground made me happy

Looks like the foot print of Big Foot but my angel statue was placed there by the roofers when cleaning the gutters, I moved it just in time

Spring, where are you?

really????

xo

“A Robin said: The Spring will never come,
And I shall never care to build again.
A Rosebush said: These frosts are wearisome,
My sap will never stir for sun or rain.
The half Moon said: These nights are fogged and slow,
I neither care to wax nor care to wane.
The Ocean said: I thirst from long ago,
Because earth's rivers cannot fill the main. —
When Springtime came, red Robin built a nest,
And trilled a lover's song in sheer delight.
Grey hoarfrost vanished, and the Rose with might
Clothed her in leaves and buds of crimson core.
The dim Moon brightened. Ocean sunned his crest,
Dimpled his blue, yet thirsted evermore.”

  4. Hope that the snow doesn't last...it does get discouraging in spring, but we can get some doozy spring snowstorms. Doesn't mean that I like them!

It sure looks springy inside, though!

  6. You need some Springtime, dear Barbara! My Mom and sister in Ohio said how cold is there. It's really chilly here in Texas, too. I hope it improves for Easter. XO

  8. Snow of ANY kind is NOT welcome during SPRING....I'm glad it isn't sticking there...I am sure not a snow person...just don't much like it.
It's been pretty cool here in West Texas, with wind and blowing sand. HATE. IT.

  11. Ha! You know what, even though it's snowing there, it still looks more Spring like than here right now. Hopefully it'll stop & whatever does accumulate will melt soon.

  13. I think we need to fire that ground hog Punky Phil! The good news here in Philly, while it came down and covered everything, rain did wash it away later in the day. Hoping we don't have any accumulation tonight. Love to see the plants coming up:@)

  14. Oh no, hope it goes away soon. Spring seems to be taking it's time to arrive everywhere this year. It's cold and windy here today.

  15. Hi Barbara, I'm sure Spring is just around the corner. Having budding blooms coming to life is surely a sign that before you know it warmer temps will arrive. Happy Easter Barbara.

  16. Crazy isn't it? It has been snowing all day here but I think it will all be gone by tomorrow. Hope we have a lovely spring and it doesn't go right into summer.

  17. We had a big snow too, last night they closed all the area schools. This morning, the streets were clear, just a little snow on the trees. Ha, bet the kids were glad they won that one!

  18. You have really had your fair share of snow, Barbara. At least you have some sprouts! It has been rainy and muddy here for so long, I haven't made the trek out into my backyard to see if I have anything coming up. Or maybe I'm just lazy! lol!

    XO,
    Jane

  19. "Spring, where are you?" My thoughts exactly!

I love the Rossetti poem that you shared! I don't think that I have read that one, but it is both appropriate and heartening.

  20. Barbara,
I wonder what kind of spring we will have when it shows up. I guess we'll find out. Love the poem too.

  21. I think springtime is playing a mischievous game of hide and seek all over the country this year. My daughter in DC send photos of snow in her garden. She is sick of it, especially since she walks a couple of miles each way to work every day.

Here, it's colder than usual with a lot of rain and wind. Our flowers are holding on for dear life.

  22. Love that poem!! If it makes you feel in better, according to the Weather Channel, it is 33 degrees here at 7:04 A.M. and feels like 27 degrees. I am not sure where spring is. The cherry trees are still not out in full bloom, except for a few rare trees. They completely missed the Cherry Blossom Festival - very unusual! Hope your Robins are nesting soon!!

  23. Dearest Barbara,
OMG, still have a snow fall☆☆☆ Yes, please DO have a positive thoughts, my friend. Plants must know it won't be so far away.
Kind of cold and bit warm here. In spring we have the Cycle of three cold days and four warm days(#^.^#)

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  24. We're finally having some warmer temps so I'm hoping we can get rid of the snow still left on the ground in another few days! You have a lot more popping than we do here!

  25. We had snow Sunday-Monday but it's mostly gone now. Usually it doesn't stick around too long this time of year, fortunately (since we are very tired of it!)
