This is my kind of party. I LOVE flannel pajamas and actually LIVE in pajamas more often than I probably should. The mailman, UPS guy, FedEx lady and at least 5 neighbors have all been greeted at the door while I was wearing them, sad but true. Most of the time I kind of look the same way even when wearing clothes, so I don't think I caused anyone serious trauma. I do get glammed up occasionally. ;-)
I switched to nightgowns in my teens and had not worn pj's for many years. When my heating bill started getting out of hand, I decided to try a pair of flannel pj's, along with flannel sheets and a down comforter to help me survive the winter. My old ranch house was drafty, and cost quite a bit to keep it "comfortable". (This was before "hot flashes" hit me.)
The flannel sheets made me sneeze, but the flannel pj's enveloped me with just the right amount of warmth, like a security blanket. With the down comforter, I didn't feel like my nose was an ice cube ready to fall off my face.
My favorite pj's are Karen Neuberger . These are also Oprah's favorites. I have purchased several pair at a store called PJ and Jammies in Peddlers' Village in Lahaska, PA . The sales girls actually wear pajamas while working. That is my kind of job. Some of the styles resemble clothing, and I have worn a top over a pair of jeans.
I also like "heavenly soft" sleepwear by Carole Hochman. This brand is available on QVC, next show is March 25th at 1:00 PM EST. The ones I am wearing currently are from Carole, and have been washed and in the dryer so many times I lost count over the past five + years. Yes, over 5 years old and not worn, just a tad faded.
Soon though I will be switching over to lighter fabrics and sleep shirts and nightgowns once more. To answer my doorbell, I'll have to have a robe or cover up nearby!
Thanks, Claudia, for hosting.
