Help ( I am ready to cry, throw in the towel, scream and just say I give up)

Thanks everyone for your rapid response and helpful tips.  It took me most of the afternoon to locate these photos, upload to a folder and get them on the post!    I think it has a lot to do with Google + trying to take over the Universe!  Or at least Blogger!!

I uploaded many photos over the past two weeks, and am finally ready to write posts.  All have been edited.  None remain on the camera.  Usually they go into my Kodak file by date.  For some reason, they did not and went into Picasa.

If I live to be 102, I will never ever understand photo editing in Picasa.  I cannot upload the photos to a post.  I cannot upload them to anything but Google +, which I hate and do not want to do.  I don't want to identify, tag, poke, share on Facebook.  All I want to do is upload these photos to a post!!!  And I can't.

Can any one explain how to get photos in Picasa onto Blogger?

If I can't load photos, my blogging career has just come to an end.

  1. Barbara are you sure they are not in your Kodak program? Usually Picasa only picks up what is already there. It could be your photos are in Kodak but under a different date that you are looking for? That happened to me when I used Kodak. Try searching more in that software.

I use Picasa all the time but it is so second nature to me now that I'm not sure how to explain the process to you. If I still lived in Brooklyn I would have come over to show you what to do!. Picasa usually puts the photos in folders. I name the folders so when I click on the "add photo icon" on Blogger I can find the photos I need. If you go to the Picasa software and see your photos separated in folders click on the number at the top of the photo and a pop up box will appear. Type in the name of the photos group and then click "save" --that will anme that bunch of photos so you can find them. I'm sure if your search there is a Picasa help page online that will show you in photos what to do. Good luck!

  2. Barbara, I certainly understand your frustration.
When I am composing a blog on the blogger page and want to add a picture, I will click on the icon that is for that purpose. Then, on my screen, there is a box that appears that gives me a few options for where the image I want to insert might be located. Picasa is listed as one of these options. I never use it because my pictures are in my computer file. Do you not have a box like that appear for you? I am using a Hewlett Packard laptop, but the same thing was true for the Apple laptop that crashed.

    Good luck!

    Hugs,
    Nellie

  3. Hi Barbara Don't throw in the towel just yet. Go to post click on picture icon on the side of that window is a title ; from Picasa Web Albums click on that an you should be able to post your pics. Works for me when I use Picasa. Hope that helps.

  5. Barb, I used to use Blogger but now use Live Writer, but it would be the same procedure. When editing in Picasa- which is really easy to get used to- you and I should do a telephone consult- LOL
Anyway, when you are done editing, go up to the top where it says File- click Save As, then it should direct you to wherever you normally save your pics. For me- it is in My Pictures on my PC. Just make sure you have made a file for them to go into. Don't you like making a file in Picasa for all of them to download into? That is by far the easiest way to do it~ Then that file goes into your My Pictures! All ready for you to upload into Blogger. PM me if you need more help and I'll send you my number. xo Sue

  6. Barb, I am so sorry! I'm no techie at all...I so wish I could help. Can you click on the photos and save with another title into your photos on your computer? Kodak originally had a download into a personal section re: my camera. They stopped that and now I have to jump through hoops.

  7. Barbara- I don't like Picasa either and haven't used it in forever, but I think you can open them on Picasa and save them on your desktop, Photobucket, etc. then upload them as normal on your blog.

  10. I don't use Picasa, either. Could you open a free account at Flickr or Ribbet (Ribbet has the old "Picnic' tool that was such a hit at Flickr). If you could transfer your photos from your camera or computer to Flickr or Ribbet, you can edit and copy the picture/s to your computer, then add them to your blog post. Just an idea. Hope it helps!

  14. Looks as though you've received the help you need. I am sorry for the frustration! I don't do my editing in Picasa so I'm no help. I upload photos directly from my computer files and then they go to Picasa.

  15. I have Picasa but haven't figured out how to make it useful. I find the best thing to do is download directly to my computer and keep the computer backed up so I don't lose anything. Good luck.

  16. Just when I started to understand Picasa, they changed it to Google+ photos! Try what Nellie said, if you haven't got it sorted out yet send me an email. ~~ Diane

  17. Barbara I understand. The last time I posted I had a hard time with the new photo system and have decided it's not worth it to me to take all that extra time. I hope it all works out for you. If not I will still see you on FB and Pinterest.

  18. Totally understand, Blogger gets me pulling my hair out. Sorry I'm no techy, I have Picasa but I don't really use it, don't edit my photos, just upload from camera onto computer, store in 'My Pictures' and insert from there. Mostly it works.

  23. I don't know if you'll see this, but I just happened to see your update and (new) comment at the beginning as I was scrolling down my dashboard.

I have to say that I agree that GOOGLE + is the problem. If they would just stinking leave well enough ALONE, we would all be better off. UGH!
