Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
       ~     Mark Twain

As we take some time to reflect on the tremendous sacrifices that were made, and are still being made, for our freedom, let us also take a little time to pray for the political leaders of the world.  (even those some of us might find despicable.)  They surely can use some prayer.

Enjoy your weekend plans, and I hope the weather is cooperating.

Joining Seasonal Sundays, Blue Monday (the little boy's uniform) and Sunny Simple Mondays.

  8. Dearest Barbara,
Great quote from Mark Twain☆☆☆ The sacrifices of the young people are tremendous. For us, August 15th is the anniversary of the end of the Pacific War and think about the lost lives.
Thank you for reminding me of the important day in America for me, my friend.

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  18. My Dad is my fallen hero, although he fell because of old age, not the war. He survived storming the beaches of Normandy in WWII, I think that makes him a great hero as many of his company didn't make it. Our men and women who serve in the Armed Forces are amazing. Thanks for this beautiful tribute and image.

  25. What an unbelievable picture. It is heartcatching. I love that quote at the beginning and the directive of the whole post. You are so right about that, and how often do we neglect to pray for them? I do, I know.

Just getting around to this. Nothing like being the tortoise of Blogville. Ugh.
