Don't call me lucky!

Have I told you how freaking difficult it is to blog with the iPad?  I apologize for being a broken record.   But I actually took a photo today with the ipad and loaded it.  I can't fix it or center it, but hey, baby steps are good!

Back in early November, I entered a contest on Facebook hosted by a blog called the Humbled Homemaker.  It was for a KerryGold gift pack.  I wanted the butter for my Christmas cookies, but alas, I just received it today.  I did have to send emails to remind them, and after they confirmed it, here are my goodies.

I received 7 types of cheese, two of each, and the expirations are good into the summer and fall of 2014.

I also received 4 sticks of regular Irish butter, two sticks of their garlic butter, two tubs of soft butter and two of light butter.  Popped them into the freezer.  Wonder if it will keep til next Christmas?

Whenever I win anything, I always feel blessed.  I do not consider it luck.  I would rather believe that it is a gift from above, most likely my mother.

I also like to pay it forward, and wish I could give everyone a sample, but I will be giving some to friends and neighbors.

I am just about ready for St. Patrick's Day with pure Irish butter and cheeses!   Thanks again to Diana Bauman of the Humbled Homemaker and KerryGold USA.  This was a wonderful giveaway.

  1. Congratulations on your win. I have always heard good things about that butter, but have never tried it.
I just received an iPad for Christmas. I find it much slower to leave comments with. I haven't even tried to make a post on it. I can see how it would be a challenge.

  3. Congrats Barbara. It is always good to win something. With the iPad, it's a matter of learning it.
I use it for comments all the time, sitting in our family room...xo

  5. Congratulations!!!
I have similar problems with blogger and Ipad. Not just doing a blog post but commenting, now that is really annoying. Trying to "back track" to a typing error you have to drop the virtual keyboard, get it up again, try to position just by the letter you want to change.......... repeat this 5 more times....... post the comment.......... phut........... off it goes into the ether!
To some extent it has put me off reading blogs as I like to comment. I'm found more often on Instagram, no problem with commenting there and I do like the "like" button because, even if you haven't time to comment, you can let posters know you've visited.
You might gather I'm not on my Ipad tonight.

  8. I love that Kerry Soft butter and use it every morning on the English Muffin. I have frozen butter for more than year, but it will pick up odors, so best to vacuum seal or wrap tightly. I grew up with a Mother who kept our freezer so stocked, we could go weeks without leaving the house! Dianne

  11. I completely agree and don't call it luck either. It's a blessing for sure instead. Even though it took a while getting there, it really was a great package!

(And I'm really sorry about the IPAD issues and do hope you get it cooperating as well as a computer. I am fully warned and dare not change to one myself now. (Not that we exactly have the money for an IPAD for me or anything. Just sayin.,)

  13. Hi Barbara,

Wow, this is one awesome gift package!! I have always wanted to try the Kerrygold butter and Dubliner cheese; I might just buy some this year for St. Pat's Day. Congratulations on winning -- that is a lovely blessing indeed.

I'm sorry you're still having problems blogging with the iPad. I do hope you can get another laptop sometime in the not-too-distant future.

    Take care, my friend. :)

  38. Congrats on the great win! I love their cheese!!! I wouldn't keep the butter in the freezer that long - 9 months for unsalted, 6 months for salted. Just some useless knowledge that I have:)
