Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd

You all know this place, I am sure!  I just made my first trip there last Friday.  It was love at first visit!

I used a stroller as we did not see shopping carts at first.

A very delicious cup of coffee.  Love their dining area.

Fish and chips for the First Friday of Lent.  It was very good.  Then we walked and walked and walked.  But I scored some nice things at really good prices.

Flatware in a nice spring green, goes well with decor and dishes that I have, service for four, $5.99, I bougt two sets for service of 8.  The aluminum pot was just 99 cents.  Faux grass, rose napkin holder and pretty spring time napkins.

I love using straws for cold beverages, and at 79 cents a pack of 100, why not?  A pretty card board lighted star, I will hang this in my dining room window for Memorial Day through Labor day and Patriots's Day.  A roll of white drawing paper. so many uses, and a cute dust pan, which was $1.99.

Of course it was hard to skip the Marketplace!  Salmon spread and crab spread, horseradish sauce which I imagine will be delicious on salmon or roast beef.  Ost prast semisoft part-skim cheese, coffee, vanilla sauce, and tunnbrod, a tasty flat bread or lavosh type bread.  I had a piece this morning with my egg whites.

Of course, the piece de resistance at Ikea, the crepes and lingonberries!

Skol!

  3. I am really embarrassed to admit that I have never been. We have one in Atlanta, but when I make the trek there, I have so many other places that I want to visit! I must make the pilgrimage at some point, though. Your "scores" look soooo tempting!!

  4. Don't you just love that place! I must go soon. Dallas is the closest one to us, so it's about a 5 hour drive. But it's worth it ever so many months.

  5. My favorite place to shop ever! We make the 2 hour trip once or twice a year. My hubby and I each have our Poang chairs we love, so comfy for tv or napping. Kitchen stuff, linens, organizers, textiles, I love everything I've ever bought there. Swedish meatball lunch is our standard. Bring on and bring home those Lingonberries, yum. Ok, now I have to plan a trip Barbara, a nice spring day trip.

  12. You found some great things, Barbara. I need to look at the Market Place the next time we go (only been twice). My regret was seeing all the great indoor plants on our way out and we had already spent more than we planned. Next time!

  13. So that's what IKEA stands for? Is it a name, a place or what? We haven't been for awhile. Last time we bought our Billy book cases. Love them. And picture frame shelves. We go during the week...on a Monday when it opens first thing. Weekends are crazy and too crowded. You bought some nice stuff.

  14. Hi Barbara!

I can't believe it, but we still haven't been to the Ikea store, and there is one less than two hours from us. Hal has been working so hard for the past year and more that our free time is just not that "free." I'm going to have to visit soon, though; our neighbors went a few years ago, and they were really impressed. I think it would be a fun day out! :)

I love the items you got, and the food looks delish. Thanks for sharing with us -- I enjoyed this post. Take care, my friend!

    Hugs,

  15. I absolutely LOVE Ikea! I love discovering those little bargains here and there. I always come home with little things I wasn't looking for...a set of plastic bowls, napkins (like you), straws (also like you), hooks, wrapping paper, a throw, picture frames, packs of art paper, kitchen gadgets...

We also bought our counter top at Ikea. Such a great store! It's probably a good thing that there are no stores really close to me. :)

It looks like you had a good day at IKEA. Food and shopping, and you get lots of exercise walking around. I like everything you bought. I think I need to again this week and find some of those goodies.
    Cheers! Rita

  18. Can you believe I have never been inside an IKEA! Looks like you found some great bargains. Are you going to do a St. Pat's table using the new flatware?
    Have a great week, Barbara!
