A Farm Girl At Heart

Once spring arrives, I cannot wait for farm stands to open and start getting in all their produce.

This farm stand in New Jersey also sells fresh eggs!  Score!

Lots of cute animals reside here.

Lettuce bowls!  No need to replant, just cut, eat and watch it regrow!

I need to visit again soon.  Jersey fresh tomatoes, cukes, asparagus, corn.

Love it all!  Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Don't tell anyone that I said this...but I enjoy getting fresh produce that did not cause ME to sweat. I know. I am pitiful. (But it's true.)

    Enjoy your goodies!

  5. What a fun time for you, Barbara! I have a dozen of those pretty eggs in my fridge from my son. He lives in the city, but has chickens in his backyard. You're lucky to be close to visit a spot to enjoy the farm girl in you.
    Happy Sunday to you!

  9. Love this post! Memories come of our farm house where we lived all the 80's and part of the 90's while our two DDs were growing and we too had a veggie patch and fresh eggs....even fresh milk, lol!
    Have a sweet week.

  10. Hi Barb, this looks like a great farm stand! I LOVE fresh summer produce, especialy tomatoes!!! Here is the recipe you asked for:
    1 can black eyed peas
    1 can black beans
    1 can whole kernel corn
1 jar pimento, drained and chopped
    1/2 cup chopped red onion
    1 lrg green pepper, chopped
    1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/4 cup EVOO
    1/2 cup agave nectar
    S and P to taste
Mix it all together, refrigerate and then drain some of the excess liquid before servibg.
I didn't have a jar of pimentos on hand so just omitted that.
I seve this as a dip with Scoops or just as a salad!!

  11. It's so nice to see you posting once again, Barbara.
I'm with you on the farm stands... love them for the super fresh produce they offer and for the opportunity to buy local. Would you believe I just bought farm fresh eggs for the first time ever. It won't be the last, however.
How fun that you get to see those cute little farm animals at your farm stand.

  14. Oh, I think I'm a farm girl at heart too, Barbara. What fun pictures these are of the farm animals, and there's nothing like fresh eggs, is there? This looks like a delightful place to visit.

I hope you are enjoying the summer days. It's getting warmer here, and supposed to be in the 100's next week.

  19. Before living in our current home, since I'm blogging. I did live in a big farm house and grounds with some farm animals and veggies and flowers and trees. I'm a girl with the country inside me still. Thanks for popping in to visit and liking my DD Sofia's Christening buffet setting.
Hope all is well sweet lady and looks like Fall is around the corner. I love the colors and décor, my very fav.
